What is happening in Ministry to Children, Youth and Families at MVPC. MVPC Children, Youth, and Family Ministries 2024-2025 Children, Youth, and Family Ministries Program Year Questions? Please contact Pastor Rebecca Holland, Associate Pastor of Discipleship Sunday Worship at 10:30 am for ALL AGES (plus Nursery and Godly Play Programs) Families of all ages are invited to participate in Sunday Worship at 10:30 am In Person or on Zoom. Gather where your whole family will be comfortable. Allow your youth and kids to color or draw while they listen and participate in worship. Encourage them to ask you questions, wonder, and talk about what they noticed in the worship service. It's a great time to connect and help your kids grow in their faith! We hope that families always feel welcome: -Kids and Youth are invited to use one of the Worship Activity Bags located outside of the sanctuary doors. -Younger Kids are invited to sit at the Kid's Activity Table for a "just the right size" chair and space to worship. -Families are invited to Worship in the Sanctuary or in the Fireside Room right outside the Sanctuary. -Godly Play Kid's will be invited to the Godly Play Program during the Prayers of the People on most Sundays. -The Nursery is open from 10 am to Noon every Sunday. Feel free to bring your little ones back anytime. The Nursery ~ Sundays from 10 am to Noon and Special Services and as requested by Programs and Events Infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary kids are welcome to come and play with our Nursery Team on Sunday mornings while their adults enjoy worship. Plus, there's a Summer Nursery Program during June, July, and August. Godly Play Kid's Ministry Program ~ most Sundays during worship Elementary aged kids begin in Worship with their families and then are invited part way through the service to the Godly Play Program where we share, wonder, and engage in our faith through storytelling and creative reflection. On 1st Sundays the Godly Play Kids remain in Worship with their families for the story and communion. No GP holiday weekends. Talk with Pastor Rebecca if you would like to learn more about this wonderful program for your kids and get a tour of the room. Youth Group ~ most Sundays Noon to 1 pm Youth in Middle School and High School are invited to be a part of the MVPC Youth Group that meets most Sundays after worship for a time of food, fellowship, and faith. On 1st Sundays the Youth meet at 10 am for donuts and to help to lead the Worship Service (instead of regular YG). No YG holiday weekends. Please RSVP for Youth Group with Pastor Rebecca. MomCo and KidCo Ministry to Moms and Kids 9:30 to 11:30 am 2nd and 4th Tuesdays Moms are invited to connect with other moms and mentor moms through a program of faith, food, and fellowship while their infants, toddlers, and preschoolers enjoy their own KidCo Kid's Program and play time. It's a wonderful time for everyone! Family Small Group Monthly Gatherings Families gather for a potluck and fellowship in homes or for a bring your own picnic at a park. Information about the campaign to repair and update the building envelope, completed January 2021 and the sanctuary in 2022. This was accomplished in four years, two months and seven days providing a space for years to come serving people and the community. Skagit Valley MOPs Mom's Group is a place for moms in the community to connect with each other in the midst of the challenges of parenting young kids. Moms of kids of all ages are welcome. Skagit Mom Co Facebook Group Skagit Mom Co and Kid Co The Skagit Mom Co is a place for moms in the community to connect with each other and grow in their faith in the midst of the challenges of parenting young kids. The Mom Co stands for The Mom Community: encouraging and equipping moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, and as women and leaders of faith. The Skagit Mom Co meets from 9:30 to 11:30 am on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays September through May at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church in Good Shepherd Hall to enjoy coffee, fellowship, and a program designed to inspire moms as they grow in their faith and navigate the challenges of raising young kids. "Babes in arms" are welcome in the meeting. The Skagit Kid Co Program is provided during Skagit Mom Co for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers to experience God's love and grow in their faith. Please note: we are not able to accommodate older kids or kids that you are providing childcare to at this time. All volunteers are background checked and trained to provide a loving and fun program. Please come and see if the Skagit Mom Co might be a place for you to connect and grow and if the Skagit Kid Co might be a place for your young kids to experience God's amazing love. MVPC Senior Ministries hosts a once a month dessert and program for seniors (those 55 and better) during the program year (September to May). MVPC Seniors Ministries Souper Seniors: Seniors are invited to a time of connection with a light lunch of soup and a program on the first Thursdays of every month from Noon to 1:30 pm October to May. Please call the church office to RSVP by the Tues before. Seniors Small Group: Seniors meet from 1 to 2 pm on Wednesdays in the Fireside Room for a time of sharing, scripture, and prayer. Questions?
